Mogadishu, Somalia Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbalolshe Appointed Director of National Security and Intelligence Agency
Today, during its weekly meeting, the Council of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Somalia approved the proposal put forth by the Ministry of Internal Security to appoint Mr. Abdallahi Mohamed Ali, known as Sanbalolshe, as the Director of the National Security and Intelligence Agency.
Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Ali brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role, having previously served in various capacities within the realm of National Intelligence and Security. His distinguished career includes positions as Minister, Member of Parliament, Ambassador, and previous tenure as Director of the NISA agency, making this his third appointment, subject to approval by the Somali cabinet.
Sanbalolshe’s leadership during his previous tenure as NISA Commander navigated the agency through challenging times, addressing critical issues within the nation.
The Council expressed gratitude to the former Director of the National Security and Intelligence Agency, Mr. Mahad Mohamed Salad, for his dedicated service to the nation. His tenure witnessed significant strides in combating threats posed by groups like Alshaab, contributing to the ongoing efforts to ensure peace and security in Somalia.
This appointment marks a significant milestone in Somalia’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding national security and promoting stability under Sanbalolshe’s capable leadership.
